The beaches are closed and pools are empty, but that's no excuse to put away the boogie boards and rafts, as several local kids discovered Saturday when high rains flooded the baseball diamond in Artesian Park. When neighbor Stu Mooney saw the action, he grabbed his camera and took some shots. In the photo at left, Lake Bluff's Jenny McKendry boogies down the field, wearing a shower cap to keep her hair from getting muddy.
More rain is expected Sunday.
