Lake Bluff is rallying to support the family of Richard Bentsen, husband, father and former proprietor of Noodle Bar, who died on May 2 at his home. Friends and neighbors have set up a memorial fund for his wife, Alexis, and their three school-age children, and they’re also planning a community-wide fundraising event for the family on Friday, May 10

The Noodle Bar in Lake Bluff is closed for the time being. After spending some 110 hours per week for the past three years running day-to-day operations of the popular Scranton Avenue restaurant, owner Richard Bentsen said he wants to spend time with his family and evaluate the business. He said the closing is a hiatus and that he hopes to re-open Noodle Bar in a few weeks.
