The Chicago North Shore Alumnae Panhellenic Association (CNSAPA) will be hosting their 12th annual Scholarship Dinner Benefit on April 27th. This year it will be at the Highland Park Country Club at 1201 Park Ave. West, Highland Park. Cash bar, silent auction and raffle starts at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Tickets are $60 before April 15th and $65 afterwards. All women from the Chicago and Chicago North Shore Area are invited. Please RSVP or send questions to email@example.com. Money raised will benefit scholarships for local high school graduating seniors who will be attending a college/university in the fall of 2017.
Guest speaker will be Barbara Rinella. She is an academic entertainer, book dramist, member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and a member of the Chicago North Shore Alumnae Panhellenic Association. She has been entertaining audiences on the Chicago’s North Shore for many years. To celebrate the 104th year of Coco Channel’s first shop in Deauville, France, which opened May 1913, Master storyteller Barbara has created a special tribute to her. Elements of this wonderful, elegant, fashionable dramatization will come from Lisa Chaney’s 2011 biography of Coco Channel, an Intimate Life.
Silent auction and raffle items will include tickets to Citadel Theater, Lynfred Winery wine tasting experiences, Exercise Coach and Core Yoga memberships, Arbonne products, Popcorn Factory products and much more.
Wear your little black dress, pearls and join sorority alumnae, collegiate women, neighbors, friends and family at this upcoming benefit. All women are welcomed.
Last year CNSAPA awarded four scholarships of $1000 each to deserving local area graduating seniors attending a National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) college/university. Since 2006, CNSAPA has awarded 30 scholarships. “With a record number of exceptional scholarship applicants this year, we hope to be able to award four scholarships again”, said Jill Schmidt, President of CNSAPA and Vernon Hills resident. “This is such a great group and everyone works so hard to put together a fantastic evening.”
Gena Palmieri, a past scholarship winner from Libertyville commented, “Receiving this scholarship has done wonders for my college experience. It not only has allowed me to go to college out of state, but it has allowed me to take advantage of outside activities such as joining Delta Gamma Sorority and interning abroad!”
In addition, CNSAPA raises scholarship money for women attending Northwestern University and Lake Forest College to attend the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI) summer leadership conference. This will be the second year of awarding three scholarships to those students.
CNSAPA also hosts two Sorority Information Days yearly in May to educate graduating high school seniors and parents about sorority life. This year’s information days will be May 21 at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville and May 23 at 7 pm at the Sacred Heart Parish in Winnetka.
CNSAPA is made up of members from 15 sorority groups on the Chicago’s North Shore suburbs and city. They are a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). All alumnae sorority organizations and sorority women are welcomed to join and participate in the group.
