Lake Bluff School District 65 has named Dr. Jean Sophie to be its next superintendent of Schools, effective July 1.

A Lake Forest 15-year-old boy was found dead on the Union Pacific railroad tracks on the 1400 block of Western Avenue near Alden Lane on Tuesday morning, apparently after being struck and killed by a train. Lake Forest Deputy Police Chief Glenn Burmeister said a woman, whom he did not identify, called the police via 911 at about 7:25 a.m. and reported that there was a body lying on the tracks.
Lake Forest High School Principal Jay Hoffman sent a letter to parents of LFHS students on Tuesday afternoon informing them that William Laskero-Teskoski, class of 2015, was struck and killed by a Metra train.
