LAKE FOREST – The Lake Shore Harley Davidson in Libertyville will host the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association’s annual benefit, the GLASA Gala, on Saturday, April 28. The theme, Live From GLASA It’s Saturday Night, sets the tone for a fun filled evening with iconic SNL characters, “Blues Brothers” Band, Whiskey Tasting Bar, Photo Booth, Live and Silent Auction, Cocktails and Gourmet Tastings from Local Restaurants. Featured are GLASA athletes Jason Handler (Lake Forest), Indamor Zamara (Zion) and Joel & David Rodriguez (Chicago).
The GLASA Gala serves as the major fundraiser to assist the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association in providing quality adaptive sports programs for children, teens, adults including injured military who have a physical or visual disability. The proceeds from this event will help GLASA provide year-round, daily adaptive sports programming and will provide financial assistance for over 63% of GLASA athletes who utilize the Athlete Scholarship Fund. GLASA’s goals are to help increase the overall health and wellness of its participants, assist with program funding and to expand outreach to surrounding communities in the greater Chicagoland area and Southern Wisconsin.
The evening will include food and spirits generously donated by local restaurants that represent a variety of cuisines and cultures. Participating restaurants include: Francesca’s Intimo, Longitud 315, Jay Lovell’s, Shakou, Mavery Public House, MLG Chicago, Pizzeria Daville and the Chocolate Sanctuary. Desserts and coffee will be offered by Food for Thought, Bent Fork, and Reprise Coffee Roasters. Appetizers donated by Heller Catering and Kloss Distributing will provide a wide selection of craft beer. This evening is one you and your taste buds will not want to miss!
