Hanni and Andrew Moses with the first baby of 2018 born at Evanston Hospital
The new year got off to a fantastic and speedy start for Hanni Itah and her growing family. At 4:03 a.m. on January 1, 2018, she gave birth to her second son — who happened to be the first birth of the year at NorthShore University HealthSystem Evanston Hospital. His big brother, Joseph Moses, was born at Evanston Hospital in 2015.
Hanni said she and her husband, Andrew Moses, were surprised to have the first baby as he was born about two weeks early, so a New Year’s Day baby was not something they had thought about. “It wasn’t until after the birth when the staff came rushing into the room to tell us that we learned of the fun fact,” she said.
The baby weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and he and his mom are both doing well. His name will be announced at his bris in the near future.
