GLENVIEW – A 30-year-old Northbrook man lost his life on Willow Road in the early hours of August 22 after his car struck the rear of a dump truck.
At 3:58 a.m. that morning, Glenview police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force’s Major Crash Assistance Team (NORTAF MCAT) responded to a vehicle vs. truck traffic crash on eastbound Willow Road between I-294 and Landwehr Road, according to a press release from the department.
A Toyota Solara struck the rear of an International dump truck, which was moving eastbound. The driver of the Toyota was transported to NorthShore University HealthSystem Glenbrook Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There were no other injuries. There were no indications at the scene of alcohol or drug use.
The Cook County man was identified as Carmel Epstein of the 2500 block of Queens Avenue in Northbrook, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The Illinois State Police, Cook County Sheriff’s Police and the Northbrook Police Department also assisted.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Major Crash Assistance Team are conducting a death investigation.
