NORTHBROOK – Maple School Principals Dr. Nate Carter and Betty Holzkopf spent a portion of last weekend with a herd of Maple School alumni from the class of 1972, who were having a mini-reunion at the school. They had the chance to tour the school and reconnect with friends.
Alumnus Nancy Beskin sent this letter to Dr. Carter and Ms. Holzkopf yesterday:
Dear Betty and Nate,
Thank you so much for taking time out of your weekend to open your school to our class! We all loved seeing the school again and are glad we had the chance to tour before the school is rebuilt. Thanks also for sharing the archival information with us; what a find. Maybe you’ll find the time capsule from the Hole-in-the-Wall days! I’d love to see what it is in that.
We all had such a great day reconnecting with old friends. In fact, many said that this reunion was better than our 40th high school reunion last year. Maple holds such a special memory for so many of us, and obviously had a life-long impact on us all.
Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your summer!
