WINNETKA – The Village Plan Commission gave its approval of the final plan for One Winnetka at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 26. Next stop for the downtown Winnetka development is the Village Council, which likely will have it on its agenda in early September, according to David Schoon, the village’s community development director.
Winnetka’s Zoning Board of Appeals and Design Review Board also approved the project’s final plan earlier this summer.
The boards were charged with determining if the final plan was consistent with the preliminary plan that was approved by the Village Council in January. “All three bodies have recommended approval of the final plan, with no additional restrictions on it,” Schoon told DailyNorthShore.
He said the developer is hoping to break ground this fall, but there still approval also is needed from state agencies such as the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and Union Pacific Railway.
