LAKE FOREST – The Parish of St. Mary is pleased to announce the appointment of David Wieters as School of St. Mary principal, effective July 1, 2017.Wieters comes to the School of St. Mary from Catholic Central High School in Burlington, Wisconsin, a school that values faith, knowledge and tradition, all values shared by School of St. Mary. Before becoming principal at Catholic Central High School, Wieters served as an elementary Catholic school principal at two different parishes subsequent to teaching middle and high school social studies, physical education and serving as athletic director and coaching varsity boys and girls basketball.
Wieters believes that “great schools are the results of great teachers, so one of my main goals will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher here at the SoSM. I will do my very best to ensure that each child is challenged, nurtured and provided with a safe and stimulating learning experience.”
Wieters commutes from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where he resides with his wife of 31 years, Beth, and their black Labrador Retriever, Jackson.
