LAKE BLUFF – The village administration has a plan to get the rain-soaked streets and parks back to pre-flood tidiness, but Route 41 was still closed during the evening commute from Rt. 60 / Townline Road to Rt. 137 / Buckley Road due to flooding at the EJ&E bridge. State Department of Transportation crews were working on cleanup, but the village administration could not estimate what time it would reopen as of late afternoon, July 13.
“Progress may be fast enough for it to be this evening, but that’s in the hands of IDOT,” said Glen Cole, assistant to the village administrator. Detours are noted on the village’s website.
In the Department of Good News, the Lake Bluff Farmers Market is on for Friday, as the ground is dry and the viaduct is clear.
Here are some things to note about Lake Bluff:
- Special trash collection (no landscape waste) will be performed by Groot throughout the day Friday for all routes / residences in Lake Bluff. Residents may place trash at the curb immediately.
- The Lake Bluff Public Works Facility is closed until further notice. No trash or landscape waste can be accepted at this time. The access road remains flooded. Updates will be posted on the Village website.
