HIGHLAND PARK – More than 300 guests reveled in a night bursting with art, entertainment, awards, silent auction items and delicious food and spirits at The Art Center – Highland Park’s 57th Annual Gala: “SpecTACular, A Celebration of the Arts,” on Thursday, May 4th. This highly anticipated benefit is TAC’s largest fundraising event of the fiscal year that helps make art accessible to everyone.
“We thank all who attended the benefit and/or who made thoughtful contributions,” shared Michele Cohen, Executive Director. “The donations will support scholarship and art enrichment programs. With government funding challenges, the contributions are essential to making sure that art is available to all. Further, the evening raised funds to support the Light Up Lives Military Program. All funds from the purchase of red light pins will be put toward scholarships for members of military families.”
The 57th Annual Gala was co-chaired by Lauri K. Zessar and Jacqueline Trotter Lotzof. Exhibits were enjoyed at the event. In the Main Gallery, Figurative Allusions by artists Gladys Nilsson, Sergio Gomez, and Eleanor Spiess-Ferris is currently on display. In another gallery, The Landscapes: Rhythm and Form in Contrast exhibit is on display. The artists featured are Michael Smith and Paula Chamlee, Amy Perlmutter, and Larry Segil.
