What better way to celebrate spring and the Easter season than socializing with family and friends at a community egg hunt. There are ample opportunities for North Shore families to hop to it and enjoy some good old-fashion fun. Be sure to arrive on time since these events tend to be popular, and don’t forget a basket!
The following is a list of egg hunts being held throughout the North Shore:
Plaza del Lago, 1515 Sheridan Road, Wilmette, is holding a free Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 10 and under at 9:30 a.m. on April 8. Be sure to reserve your free tickets at www.plazadelago.com
The Wilmette Park District is holding its 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Howard Park, on April 15 at 9:45 a.m. for children ages 10 and under. Children are organized not groups by age and eggs contain candy, prizes and some contain special prizes that are handed out at the end of the hunt. A special visit by the Easter Bunny will provide photo opportunities. Pre-registration is required at www.wilmettepark.org. Tickets are $7 for residents and $9 for non-residents.
The Wilmette Park District is also holding a Doggie Egg Hunt at Gillson Park on April 15 at 1:00 p.m. Dogs will sniff out eggs filled with treats or coupons for special prizes. There will be two hunts organized by age group. Dogs must be at least four months old to participate, wear a current rabies collar and be on a leash. Pre-registration is required at www.wilmettepark.org. Tickets are $7 for resident and $9 for non-residents.
The Winnetka Park District is holding its 44th Annual Egg Hunt on April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at West Elm Park, 1155 Elm Street, Winnetka. The Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance after the hunt. There will also be a live petting zoo, bouncy inflatables and an area for children under three to safely explore unfilled eggs. The Winnetka Park District is also holding a Doggie Egg Hunt on April 15 at 12:00 p.m. at West Elm park. This egg hunt is just for dogs and will immediately follow the children’s egg hunt. March with your dog in an Egg Hunt Parade, take your dog through the Doggy Obstacle Course, and scour for treats hidden in plastic eggs. Those registered by April 13 will be guaranteed a goody bag. Those registered after this date will receive goody bags while supplies last. Register at www.winpark.org. Tickets are $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents before April 13 and $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents after April 13.
The Northfield Park District will be holding an Eggstravaganza on April 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Clarkson Park, 1950 New Willow Road, Northfield. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos and there will be face painting. The egg hunt starts at 11:00 a.m. sharp.
The Glencoe Park District will be holding an egg hunt on April 8 at 10:00 a.m. in Watts Park, 305 Randolph Street, Glencoe. Following the children’s hunt, a doggie egg hunt will be held at 10:45 a.m. After the hunt participants can enjoy crafts, games and photos with the Spring Bunny. In the event of inclement weather, the egg hunt will be relocated to the Takiff Center. For special event weather information, call 847-258-9050.
This year’s Egg Hunt is on April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Woods Park, 1801 Sunset Road Highland Park. Gather colorful eggs filled with toys and fun surprises. One special egg will hold a family pass to Hidden Creek AquaPark for Summer 2017. Children will be divided into groups by age and should keep an eye out for a special guest.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 8 at Deerpath Community Park, 400 Hastings Road, Lake Forest. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with musical entertainment, games, crafts, balloon art and pictures with the easter bunny. Participants need to gather for the egg hunt at 11:00 a.m.
A Flashlight Egg Hunt for children ages 9 through 12 years old will be held on April 7 at 8:00 p.m. at the Lake Bluff Recreation Center, 355 West Washington Avenue, Lake Bluff. Participants should bring a flashlight and basket. An egg hunt for ages 8 and under will be held on April 8 at 9:00 a.m. at the Lake Bluff Recreation Center. Participants can hunt for eggs, see the Easter Bunny and find Golden Tickets to win prizes.
