We are strong supporters of Lake Forest High School and the Caucus-nominated candidates for school board. Our daughter, Jill Barrere, is a 2016 graduate of LFHS, and we currently have a Deer Path 8th grade son who is anxiously awaiting attending LFHS. We hope he will enjoy the same opportunities, success, support and achievement our daughter experienced at the high school.
Our daughter’s high school experience was nothing short of outstanding in every way: challenging academics, extracurricular activities, student governance, community involvement, etc. Her accomplishments far exceeded even her own expectations. She was an early proponent of Dr. Holland and her initiatives. Jill is quick to acknowledge the many teachers and administrators who contributed to preparing her for the University of Illinois where she is prospering in her freshman year. She maintains her relationship with, and support of, Dr. Holland and the teachers, coaches, mentors and administrators who had a profound impact on her college and life preparedness. Our daughter also expressed her appreciation for the support and encouragement she received from the school board during her monthly presentations as a member of the LFHS student council.
As parents, we could not be happier with the overall educational experience provided by LFHS and are pleased to support those school board volunteers working to keep LFHS on the right track. They are the first four candidates on the ballot: Tom Nemickas, Sally Davis, Ted Moorman, and Dave Lane.
Jon and Susan Barrere
