WINNETKA – The Winnetka Police Department arrested an activities assistant employed by New Trier Township High School in connection with potential fraudulent activity. The alleged activity was discovered by school officials who subsequently notified the police.
Winnetka police investigators conducted an investigation that included the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, and on Feb. 17 police charged Jeanine M. Brooks, 36, from 8505 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Apt. #1N, Chicago, with theft over $10,000 but under $100.000, Official Misconduct, and Unlawful Use of Account Number.
Brooks is employed at New Trier High School as an Activities Assistant. The incidents that led to the charges against Brooks are alleged to have occurred during the 2016/2017 school year.
Brooks was taken to a bond hearing on Saturday, Feb. 18 where bond was set at $25,000. Brooks is due in court on Feb. 23 at the 2nd District Courthouse, 5600 Old Orchard Road, Skokie.
