New Trier had it all going.
The Trevians went up against some tough rivals and came out a winner in the 11-team Evanston Invite on Jan. 7. They tallied a 145.70 to top Maine South (142.60), Glenbrook South (140.15) and Glenbrook North (136.525).
Glenbrook South’s Hannah Hartley was the star of the meet, winning the all-around with a 37.70. The co-runner-ups were Maine South’s Caleigh Pistorius, daughter of New Trier head coach Jennifer Pistorius, and New Trier’s Avery Faulkner. Both posted 37.35 in the all-around competition.
NT locked away the win with strong showings up and down its lineup. Emma Jane Rohrer placed fourth in the all-around (36.45). Maeve Murdock ended up fifth in the all-around (36.40).
The event champs included Glenbrook South’s Bebe Haramaras on balance beam (9.475), Rohrer on uneven bars (9.40), Pistorius on vault (9.825) and Faulkner on floor exercise (9.60).
Hartley was the runner-up on beam (9.30) and bars (9.275), while the senior standout placed third on vault (9.70) and fourth on floor (9.425).
Faulkner also stood out on vault (2nd, 9.75), while she finished third on bars (9.125).
Murdock took third on beam (9.225), fourth on beam (9.0) and fourth on vault (9.50).
GBS, which competed without talented freshman Jenna Hartley, also received solid work from Sarah Healy (5th, vault, 9.35) and Kyle Kruger (7th, bars, 8.65). Haramaras added a seventh on floor (8.90).
Rachel Zun helped NT’s cause by taking fifth on bars (8.80) and floor (9.175). Rohrer added a sixth on vault (9.30).
Glenbrook North was led by all-arounders Brittany Ullrich (8th, 34.20) and Kelly Lazar (9th, 33.90). Alex Michalak finished eighth on beam (8.925). Ullrich was seventh on vault (9.275).
— Led by Hannah Hartley, Jenna Hartley and Bebe Haramaras, Glenbrook South came up with a dominating performance to win the Palatine Invite on Dec. 17. In the process, the Titans recorded their best score of the season (145.375).
Senior Hannah Hartley won the all-around title with a 37.825 by taking first place in all four events: 9.575 on vault, 9.45 on uneven bars, 9.70 on balance beam and 9.10 on floor exercise.
Freshman Jenna Hartley claimed runner-up honors in the all-around (37.275). She placed second on vault (9.55), bars (9.175), beam (9.525) and floor (9.025).
Haramaras scored a 34.775 in the all-around (4th place). The junior took fourth on vault (9.20), bars (8.625) and beam (8.80).
Junior Kylie Kruger and sophomore Sarah Healy also helped the GBS cause. Kruger came in third on bars (8.775), fourth on floor (8.625) and fifth on beam (8.70). Healy was fifth on vault (9.15).
Lake Forest Holiday Meet
— Host Lake Forest scored a 123.85 to place third behind Carmel Catholic (145.80) and Deerfield (141.25) in its annual Holiday Meet on Dec. 15.
LF’s top efforts were turned in by Jessica Pasquesi in the all-around (7th, 32.80) and uneven bars (7th, 8.20) and Emma Hoshino on vault (8th, 8.70) and balance beam (8.20).
Glenbrook South 142.55, Niles North 126.50
— Freshman Jenna Hartley won all four events and amassed an all-around score of 37.40 in Glenbrook South’s convincing win over Niles North on Dec. 15.
Junior Bebe Haramaras took second in the all-around with a 36.40.
— Highlighted by Hannah Hartley’s championship performance in the all-around (37.525), Glenbrook South was the runaway winner at the Spartan Classic at Glenbrook North on Dec. 9.
The Titans tallied a 142.875 team score. New Trier (138.35) and the host Spartans (133.975) finished 2-3, while Lake Forest took seventh overall (119.575).
Hannah Hartley claimed titles on balance beam (9.60), vault (9.45) and floor exercise (9.375). The senior finished third on the uneven bars (9.1) behind GBS’s Jenna Hartley (9.3) and New Trier’s Avery Faulkner (9.15).
Jenna Hartley added a fourth on beam (8.95).
This also was a good meet for GBS’s Kylie Kruger. The junior took runner-up honors on beam (9.1) and placed third on floor (8.85).
GBS’s Bebe Haramaras finished fourth in the all-around (34.95). Her best event was floor (4th, 8.8).
Faulkner was the top performer for New Trier. She wound up second in the all-around (36.20). Her best efforts came on bars (2nd, 9.15) and vault (2nd, 9.35).
NT’s Maeve Murdock was fifth in the all-around (34.95). She came up with third-place finishes on beam (9.05) and vault (9.325).
Glenbrook South 139.65, Niles West 129.85
— Bebe Haramaras took first in the all-around (35.65) as Glenbrook South claimed a decisive win over host Niles West on Dec, 8.
Haramaras took first on floor exercise (9.15) and second on the balance beam (9.30). She also finished in a tie for second on vault (8.90) with teammate Sarah Healy.
Hannah Hartley won two events for the Titans: 9.35 on uneven bars and 9.50 on balance beam.
Jenna Hartley was the runner-up on bars (8.80), while Kylie Kruger was second on floor (8.95).
In addition to the vault, Healy was fourth in the all-around (33.70) and third on floor (8.75).
Stevenson 128.15, Lake Forest 120.75
— Lake Forest fell to visiting Stevenson but managed to make a four-point improvement on its best score of the year.
Junior Jessica Pasquesi came up with an 8.4 to place second on vault. Her all-around score was 31.30 (3rd place).
Scouts freshman Sophie Prozument place third on the balance beam (8.10).
New Trier 143.20, Glenbrook South 142.70
— Emma Jane Rohrer turned in the top uneven bars routine (9.55) and helped New Trier to edge visiting Glenbrook South on Dec. 3.
Avery Faulkner and Maeve Murdock also performed admirably for the winning Trevians. Faulkner claimed runner-up honors in the all-around (37.00). She was second on bars (9.35) and floor exercise (9.50), while she shared second place on vault (9.45) and place third on the balance beam (8.70).
Murdock ended up fourth in the all-around (35.00). She was second on beam (8.80) and fourth on vault (9.40).
The meet’s top individual performer was GBS’s Hannah Hartley. She won the all-around with a 38.20. She also took first on vault (9.75), beam (9.60) and floor (9.55).
GBS’s Bebe Haramaras shared second on vault with Faulkner, while she was third on floor (9.40) and tied for fourth on beam (8.60) with NT’s Zoey Springer.
GBS’s Sarah Healy (34.50) and Kylie Kruger (33.5) finished fifth and sixth respectively in the all-around competition.
Glenbrook South 143.50, Deerfield 136.45
— Glenbrook South opened the season with solid victory over visiting Deerfield on Dec. 1.
Senior Hannah Hartley won the all-around title with a 37.90.
Warren 124.50, Lake Forest 116.75
— The vault was Lake Forest’s best event (31.50), when the Scouts lost a dual meet to visiting Warren on Nov. 30.
Jessica Pasquesi led LF on vault (8.35), tying Warren’s Abbie Dearinger. Emma Hoshino shared third place with an 8.30.
Pasquesi ended up with the team’s top all-around score (30.65) for fourth place. She had an 8.0 on floor exercise and 7.9 on balance beam.
Hoshino took fifth in the all-around (30.35).
