GLENVIEW – The Glenview District 34 Board of Education will host a special board meeting on Thursday, January 12, to approve the hiring of the new superintendent. The anticipated approval of this candidate follows an extensive search process that included the gathering of critical input from all stakeholder groups.
“Gathering feedback from all stakeholder groups was a key component to ensuring the Board made a decision based on who could best meet the needs of the district. We appreciate the time many of you took to complete the online survey or participate in the focus group sessions that occurred this past fall,” said Board President Cathe Russe.
A confidential committee composed of representatives from the administration, parent leadership, union leadership, and the support staff and the teaching communities also provided their valuable input about the final group of candidates.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the District Administration Building. The Board will approve the candidate and a small reception will immediately follow to welcome the individual to the district.
Information about the candidate will immediately follow Board action at the meeting. Additionally, the district does plan on hosting a formal welcome for the new superintendent later on this school year.
“On behalf of the Board of Education, we want to express our excitement and genuine belief that an even brighter future lies ahead for this incredible school community,” Russe said.
