— Levy Nathan was one of the stars at the Lake County Invite.
The Highland Park senior claimed two titles — 200 freestyle (1:42.98) and 500 free (4:39.34) — in the meet held at Stevenson High School on Dec. 17. Nathan also teamed up with Richard Heller, Andrew Vorobev and Hugh Laedlein in the 400 free relay which placed third in 3:23.67.
Nathan’s efforts helped the Giants to a fourth-place finish (247 points) behind Stevenson (491), Barrington (333) and Libertyville (324). Lake Forest scored 181 points to finish sixth behind Warren (196).
Vorobev helped the HP cause by placing third in the 200 IM (2:02.8) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (55.54). Laedlein took fourth in the 100 free (50.08) and sixth in the 50 free (23.05).
The foursome of Vorobev, Ryan Tran, Jake Kinczel and Adam Grobelny finished fifth in the 200 medley (1:44.28).
The team’s top diver was Mark Fox (8th, 312.90).
Lake Forest was led by Kevin Donahue, who raced to a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly (55.83) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:04.09).
Donahue also anchored two relays. He teamed with Carlos Minetti, Will Paschke and Zach Boveri to take sixth in the 200 free (1:36.15). And he joined forces with Paschke, Minetti and Elliot Hangos to place sixth in the 400 free (3:35.42).
LF’s top divers were Richie Mannarino (9th, 307.30) and Noah Sachs (10th, 306.45).
