WINNETKA – Winnetka commuters were confronted with a crime scene under investigation on their way to work in the morning on January 5. A car crash occurred in the early morning hours near the Elm Street Train Station and police were busy investigating the two vehicles that were damaged as commuters made their way to the train station.
The Winnetka Police Department received a phone call at 4:50 a.m., reporting a traffic crash at 754 Elm Street near the Metra parking lot, according to Deputy Chief Marc Hornstein. The incident involved a stolen vehicle that crashed into an unoccupied parked car. The vehicle was stolen from Skokie, he said. According to Deputy Chief Hornstein, the driver did not sustain significant injuries.
