EVANSTON – Sarkis Café is open for business, just don’t expect to dine on the patio. During rush hour on April 21, a two-car accident at Gross Point Road and Crawford Avenue propelled one of the vehicles into the parking lot and through Sarkis’ patio, according to WGN-TV. The Chicago Tribune reported that the driver of a 2015 Kia turned left onto Crawford in front of a 2003 Honda, causing the Honda driver to pass out. While out, he apparently put his foot on the accelerator, propelling his vehicle through Sarkis’ patio and stopping in the parking lot. He was treated at Skokie Hospital and released, the Tribune reported. The Kia driver was not injured but did get a ticket for improper left turn and failure to reduce speed, according to the Tribune.
