Lake Bluff Elementary School students were honored this week for their exceptional attendance rate of 97.65 percent during the 25th Annual Lake County School Fall Attendance Week competition. The school placed in the top ten of Lake County’s medium-sized elementary schools for attendance the week of September 9-13th, 2013.
Assistant Principal Tracy Roehrick was on hand at to receive a framed certificate of achievement from the Regional Superintendent’s Office at a “Top Ten” ceremony held September 30 at the College of Lake County.
The annual competition promotes improved school attendance at the beginning of the school year, and emphasizes the need to attend regularly to receive full educational benefits. It was sponsored by the County’s Attendance & Truancy Division, formerly known as PASS (Positive Alternative Student Services), and Roycealee Wood, Lake County Regional Superintendent of Schools.
All K-12 schools in Lake County were eligible to be recognized by the Regional Superintendent for excellence in their weekly attendance rate. 112 schools and 82,889 students participated.
This ceremony is the conclusion to a month-long celebration of the first-ever National Attendance Awareness Month, a campaign organized by Attendance Works and other national partners.
