National Voter Registration Day – League of Women Voters
Along with hundreds of other nonprofit organizations all over the country, the League of Women Voters – Lake Forest/Lake Bluff is participating in National Voter Registration Day on Tues., September 25. In 2008 over 6 million people didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline of didn’t know how to register. This year, a nationwide network of local organizations is working to enable citizens to exercise their right to vote.
The League will have deputy registrars at PostNet, 825 S. Waukegan Rd. in Lake Forest from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you haven’t already registered or have moved here recently and need to change your address, stop by. Bring two pieces of current identification, and registrars will be happy to help you and give you more information.
A week earlier, League members will register voters at two other locations. The first is at Graffiti Grill, 715 Rockland Rd., Lake Bluff on Wed., Sept. 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The other location is Lake Forest Place, 1100 Pembridge Dr., Lake Forest, on Friday, Sept. 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Be sure you are registered and ready to vote in 2012!
